RECOMMENDED DECKS(Green/Purple) Donquixote Doflamingo

September 29, 2023
Constrict your opponent with powerful Counters and Blockers!

Concept

This deck harnesses a large number of Counter Events to take full advantage of Leader Doflamingo's effect. It is more adept than other decks at handling attacks by powerful Characters, wielding enough defensive strength to shrug off attacks that would normally be near fatal. While it's more vulnerable to barrages of small attacks, the abundance of green medium-sized Blockers helps deal with that. Fight slow and steady, with a solid defense as your backbone.

Deck Breakdown

Early Game

This Counter-oriented deck avoids aggressively attacking in the early game. Start by deploying low-cost Characters and using "OP04-036 Donquixote Family" to prepare your hand for the mid game and beyond.

The Leader effect of "OP04-019 Donquixote Doflamingo" allows you to reset up to two DON!! cards as active per turn. This means that by having a Counter Event in your hand ready to go, you can earn plenty of freedom in how you play. However, since this deck is short on +2000 Counters, you'll sometimes need to use Counter Events even for weak attacks.

Mid Game

Medium Blockers are important for the flexibility of this deck, where Counters tend to be more powerful. Try to use Blockers to protect against smaller attacks of 5000 or 6000 power, while using Counter Events to protect rested Blockers, or against stronger attacks.

Using "OP01-057 Paradise Waterfall" or "OP04-035 Spiderweb" while blocking an attack with a Blocker can immediately return the Blocker to an active state. This is an important technique for stopping strong attacks while bracing your Blockers to go again.

End Game

Add a finisher to a solid board lined with Blockers to back your opponent into a corner. The strength of "OP04-019 Donquixote Doflamingo" is that even if you use all your DON!! cards to flood the board, the Leader effect helps shore up the gaps in your armor.

Although "OP04-024 Sugar" is strong when played simply to manage the board, it is also a very powerful move to put it onto the field one turn before playing "OP04-031 Donquixote Doflamingo". Since you can forcefully rest your opponent's cards, if they attempt to play a high-cost Character, your "OP04-031 Donquixote Doflamingo" will be ready to hold them down.
