RECOMMENDED DECKS(Blue) Kuzan

August 22, 2025
Admiral "Aokiji" takes the stage in this {Navy} deck focused on manipulating your hand!

Concept

A deck featuring the blue Leader [Kuzan], also known as "Aokiji". His Leader effect lets you draw the same number of cards every time you use a {Navy} card effect to trash cards from your hand. Take advantage of {Navy} Characters with powerful effects that rely on trashing cards, then aim to finish strong by using [Monkey.D.Garp] to play multiple Characters in the late game.

Deck Breakdown

Early Game

Your Leader "OP12-040 Kuzan" has a powerful draw effect that allows you to draw the same number of cards every time you use the effects of {Navy} cards to trash cards from your hand.
On top of that, many of the Characters in this deck are {Navy} Characters that become stronger the more cards you trash from your hand.
For example, "OP12-047 Sengoku" provides an excellent method of drawing cards, allowing you to search for 2 {Navy} cards by trashing 1 card from your hand. It makes for a good match with your Leader effect, which will allow you to replenish any cards you trash.

This deck's main finisher is the 8-cost "OP12-056 Monkey.D.Garp".
Early on, use your Leader effect to search for this Character and other {Navy} Characters with 8000 power.

Mid Game

In the mid-game, focus on defending with your more defensive cards while using your Leader effect to preserve your hand.
Use the [On Play] effect of "OP12-043 Kuzan" and the [Blocker] ability of "OP12-053 Borsalino" to fend off your opponent's attacks.
If "OP12-053 Borsalino" would be removed from the field by your opponent's effect, you can use its [Once Per Turn] effect to protect it by trashing a card instead.
You can always use your Leader's effect to draw a card to make up for the trashed card if you do so.

"OP12-057 Ice Block Pheasant Peck" is a [Counter] that gives a card +4000 power by trashing 1 card from your hand.
While it can be tricky to use in other decks, it becomes a useful [Counter] in this deck, letting you cycle your hand when paired with your Leader effect.
Its [Trigger] effect also lets you trash 1 card to draw 1 card, so with your Leader effect, you'll draw 2 cards in total.

End Game

In the late game, use "OP12-056 Monkey.D.Garp" to rapidly play out multiple Characters.
Its [On Play] effect allows you to trash 1 card from your hand to play a {Navy} Character with 8000 power or less; ideally, you'll want to use it to play the 8000 power "OP12-044 Sakazuki".
After playing it, use your Leader effect to draw 1 card to make up for the card you trashed, then draw 2 more cards with the [On Play] effect of "OP12-044 Sakazuki".

  • OP12-040

The effects of Leader "OP12-040 Kuzan" have no [Once Per Turn] restriction, so after using the [On Play] effect of "OP12-056 Monkey.D.Garp", you can activate your Leader effect again with the [Activate: Main] effect of "OP12-044 Sakazuki".
Use the cards you drew to play even more "OP12-056 Monkey.D.Garp" and "OP12-044 Sakazuki" cards, and use their combined power to overwhelm your opponent.
