ONE PIECE CARD GAME Development Team Letter
To all the enthusiastic players and supporters of “ONE PIECE CARD GAME”, from the “ONE PIECE CARD GAME” Development Team.
Thank you very much for enjoying the “ONE PIECE CARD GAME”.
Today in this letter we want to share information about the event regulations for “ONE PIECE CARD GAME” from the 2026-2027 season.
About Championship 26-27
The new season will be divided into Season 1 and Season 2.
Season 1 will start from March 2026!
Since we’re working towards simultaneous product releases worldwide, the tournament prizing will also be made the same for each region.
Some prizing will be available at the same time as in Japan, and some prizing may even be available earlier. Please look forward to it!

North America/Europe
In each season there will be Store Championships held at local game stores as well as the large events called Regionals held in major cities. Players earning an invite from those can join the area Finals which the top players will be invited to participate in the World Championship, which determines the worlds No.1 player.
- *Please check the event’s details for information such as the number of Finals invites available for these areas.
Latin America
There will be Regionals in major cities each season. At the end of each season there will be area Finals. The winner of Finals Season 1 will battle the winner of Finals Season 2 at Finals Season 2, and the winner will be invited to participate in the World Championship, which determines the world’s No.1 player.
- *Finals in this area will not require an invite from a Regional. They will be open Finals.
Oceania
There will be Regionals in major cities each season. At the end of Season 2 there will be an area Finals whose winner will be invited to participate in the World Championship, which determines the world’s No.1 player.
- *Finals in this area will not require an invite from a Regional. It will be open Finals.
Serial Card EB04-061 Monkey.D.Luffy is planned to be offered not only during Season 1 but the whole year as TOP 8 prize in the Regionals. We hope everyone will join in!
Regionals Season 1 Store Championship Season 1About Tournament Formats & Side Events
From the new season ONE PIECE CARD GAME official tournaments will no longer be held online, all tournaments will be held offline.
We plan to offer players more chances to join Championship events near them instead by expanding the Store Championship.
In addition, Treasure Cup events, which were previously held online in some regions, will now be held exclusively offline and will primarily take place as side events at Regional tournaments.
About Each Tournament Regulation
Standard Regulation
Again, Standard Regulation is the format where the permitted cards are decided using the Block Icon in the bottom right corner of the card. The new season’s Standard Regulation will permit cards with Block Icon 2 or higher.
Championship 26-27 tournaments as well as Store Tournaments, Release Events, Store Treasure Cups, will all use standard regulations unless specified otherwise.
There will also be a new store event series allowing players to casually enjoy playing the ONE PIECE CARD GAME with their NAKAMA introduced which will use standard regulations.
Extra Regulation
Extra Regulation is a new format starting from April 1, 2026 along with the implementation of the Block Icon system. With the exception of some banned cards, all cards released to date are legal for play. To go along with this there are tournaments called an Extra Grand Battle planned to held at local game stores, Finals & Regionals as side event, and more to allow the continued enjoyment of the full range of cards.
Here is a special preview of the Extra Grand Battle 2026 Season 1 prizes cards which will be held at stores from May 2026.
Serial Card EB02-006 Yamato is planned to be offered not only during Season 1 but the whole year as a finalist prize in the Extra Grand Battle. We hope everyone will join in!
About Banned Cards
From April 1, 2026 the same banned card, banned pair, and restricted card list will be used within both Standard Regulation and Extra Regulation events.
This means a card banned based on the situation in Standard Regulation events will also be banned within Extra Regulation events. Since Extra Regulation can use Block Icon 1 cards, we’d like to introduce Block Icon 1 cards which will no longer be banned from April 1, 2026.
As of April 1, 2026 the ban on these cards will be lifted for events using the Extra Regulation format.
Going forward, we plan to regularly review the ban or restrictions of cards that are removed from Standard Regulation for use in the Extra Regulation environment.
Please continue to support ONE PIECE CARD GAME.
